I think you already know what avenue you need to follow to get a 'six pack' My advice would be not to over do things and take it easy to begin with. Start with 10 or 20 at a time and rest in between (A count of 10 deep breaths, in though your nose and out through your mouth). My son was a little bit older that you at 17 when he started to take his exercise serious and at 19 he now boasts a fair old six pack and can does 250 sit ups no problem, he chooses to do his exercise shortly after getting out of bed as he says it really clears his head and sets him up for the rest of the day ............ sorry to say there is no quick way, but with my son you could see the definition starting after just one month.
It is up to you my young friend but I would strongly advise against going on a diet, no matter what others may think they have found on google or by reading books the only way to get the six pack you want is to work for it ................ good luck.
loosehead is right... We all have the muscle there under all the fat.... 75-78 % of what we eat is our fitness look.
I can run 5-6 days a week and do lift weights 4-5 days a week and work very hard.. but if im not eating right then I can still gain weight and being a female .. its mostly right in the abbs... and remember you can not spot reduce.. You can not pick a spot on your body and just lose weight there... So if you want your 6-pack to show. then eat very healthy drink LOTS LOTS AND LOTS of water...
Jennykins, the lad who asked the original question weighs only 7 stone so we can forget about fat, he was simply asking how he could add some definition to his non existant abs.......yes he has the muscle there as does everyone but despite the fact he carries no fat they are not visible!! What you young folk need to remember that six packs & body beautifuls (?) were around way before "exercise" became a so called exact science and pre money making industry.
The "big con" I believe is being sold to thousands of normal folk who just wish to gain some level of fitness and firm up a bit and are told they will have to change their whole life style to achieve it!! from what they eat to even where they do their exercise ........ I know of one lady who every day jumps in her car and drives the odd mile or so to a private gym to faithly do her 45 minutes on the tread machine???
What worked in the 40's 50's 60' 70's & 80's still works today and unless you are looking to develop a high degree of fitness then a few simple 'old fashioned' work outs using 'old fashioned' equipment & methods at home is more than sufficient............. As for so called healthy eating, only yesterday it was announced on the national news that it is now oily fish that makes the danger list... this being after years of the so called health guru's spouting their unfounded (in the long term) findings.
Those of you who maintain high level of fitness then good on yer, but to those who only wish to raise their fitness somewhat and are depressed because they can't change their whole life style as continually told to do ........ YOU DONT! you do not even have to buy a pair of nike shoes :-)
