phrases that make my blood boil
there are certain phrases i wish to irradicate from society as they have no use except to annoy me
"To Be Honest" why oh why unless your a pathological liar do you need to tell me that you are about to be honest? its as if everything you have said before that was a lie and only now are they about to tell the truth. in the same vain
"to be fair" again is the person saying this in some way unfair? and again they are saying that to let you know on this instance they are going to be fair??
but by far the worst is "at the end of the day" yes because after that whatever they say only applies at midnight? listen to people who use this phrase, most of them morons. this phrase at least can be used in a proper sentence but i have only ever heard it used once properly. please someone agree with me?

"at the end of the day i think your right"
which is the stupidest sentence ever!
its just a whole load of crap that defiles the english language!
"At this moment in time" - a favourite of the MK Dons manager Danny Wilson. What's wrong with "now"? Similarly why utilise when you can use? Why say "myself" where "me" is clearly sufficient? And why does football have to be talked about in continuous tenses? i.e. "He's tried to lob the keeper there, and the keeper's just got a finger tip to it", rather than "he tried to lob the keeper, and the keeper got a finger tip to it". Bizarre.
On a more positive note, Chris Eubank provides a model for others to follow. Rarely says anything particularly complicated, yet sounds intelligent enough simply by considering what he says carefully and slowing down, rather than filling every gap with speech.
