If you get a good answer let me know, I have the same problem x
I had the exact same thing, Sam. They cost a bomb to maintain, don't they? Mine were like paper after I had them taken off. I've been using Sally Hensen stuff for a while and they're hard as nails (excuse the pun). I can't remember the exact name, but it's 'Diamond' something in a silver bottle. It's quite pricey at about 8 for a bottle though. xx
hi stylinsam hope your good boots do tablets for skin and nails which are quite good but i found that zinc works better but dont take them all the time try two weeks on them then two weeks off and so on x

Hi stylinsam,

Im the same, i give my nails a break for two weeks after every six of having the arcrylic ones on and they are always a nightmare. I use a buffer, paint them with the sally hansen stuff - silver bottle and also keep them short.

I used to get falsies but don't bother any more, my nails used to go like tissue paper after they'd come off. I always cut them real short after the acrylics came off and didn't get new ones until the ridge of the previous nail had grown out. Now I just look after my own nails and have them manicured - it cheaper and betyter for them even on my wedding day I had my own nails with a French manicure and everyone thought they were gel tips or something.

just a tip: you shouldn't buff your nails after having acrylics taken off as it can weaken the nails and make them in worse condition xx

False nails weaken the nail bed and your nails go all papery once they are removed as I found to my horror when my niece talked me into having them done a year or so ago..I don't know why I did it as my nails are O.K.!!
Anyway ...almond oil rubbed into the nails and cuticles every day did help and soaking them in warm almond oil a couple of times a week.Don't file them or buff them ,clip them with a nail clipper.
The trouble with nail hardener is that it contains fomaldeyhide,so when used in the long term also weakens the nails.
A professional manicure is good ..they can shape a nail out of nothing !
And...hand cream ..all the time ..nails need moisture
Good luck with your talons!
