What it says is,

"You may get Disability Living Allowance...if you are under 65 when you claim.

If you're aged 65 or over, you may be able to get Attendance Allowance"

The part about 'your age when you claim' may be important to you. Is it specifically Disability Living Allowance that you are interested in?

The Age Concern website: www.ageconcern.org.uk contains a section with Fact Sheets which contain a lot of useful information for older people. These fact sheets also provide other sources of information which you might find helpful.

It depends on where you live. Social Assistance is not uniform all over the world.

I'd suggest that you contact your social assisntance agent. In most areas, there is assistance available if your income is so low, and your needs are so high that you qualify. Good luck in your quest.

If you are under 65 you may claim Disability Living Allowance (DLA), if awarded you will get it as long as you are entitled regardless of your age. This means you can still retain it past your 65th birthday. However if over 65 you cannot claim DLA but can claim Attendance Allowance.
