I wonder if it is to do with a deficiency from the diet, or the sugar rush? Maybe being on a diet and cutting out nice stuff (lets face it all food that tastes great isn't usually good for you) after a while you just crave it.
BTW I have put some of the weight back on and feel I can take or leave chocolate again, certainly doesn't taste as satisfying. Diet & exercise starts tomorrow!
On a strict diet, your body will have started burning up all its reserves may go into "panic" mode. If you crash diet the urge to pig on sweetand fatty foods will become absolutely irresistible.
Choc in particular has feelgood chemicals as well as sugar and fats.
I suggest you keep your dieting moderate with a view to long-term weight control, and allow some treats.
