im going for a jog tonight around a massive lake i have never jogged that far before im going with my boyfriend is there any precurtions to take or shal i just take it steady.


and how long will it take to lose a bit of weight jogging.

Do some warm-up stretches. I get loads of bother with my calves if I dont. Dont know about the weight thing, just keep at it you will see results and feel other benefits too.

Which lake is that, Sam?

Also do warm down exercises afterwards, you won't be so stiff the following morning.

its called westport lake its bloody huge.

If youve not jogged such a distance before why not try jogging for a couple of mins and then walking for a couple then jogging, then walking etc etc.


Other precaution is obvious.... try not to fall in. :)

If you've not jogged before, it's usually best to start off with power walking, rather than going straight into jogging. Have fun!

Smudge is right. When I was at the gym once my mate was jogging on the tredmill and she was talking to the trainer and he said coz she had never jogged before then it wouldn't be beneficial to her and she would lose more weight power walking first and then after time starting to get into jogging. He said about 2 weeks she should be jogging by.
