if you use factor 10 suntan lotion, then apply a factor 6 over the top, would this be classed as factor 16 or just mask out the first one?


Silly question - but i had a dream about it!!!!! hehe

I was just using the numbers as an example, I just want to know in theory if it would work or not?
No - you would still have factor 10 protection I think.
no - multiple layers do not increase the factor of sun protection e.g. if i apply two layers of factor 10 i am still only wearing factor ten sunsceen rather than factor 20.
