when my index fingernails grow, they tend to grow bent inwards from the corners. this happens only in one corner of my nail and it looks really weird and i'm getting really conscious of them now. can someone suggest why this is, or what i can do to "bend" them back to normal.

If this has just started to occur then I suggest that maybe you should see your doctor as the state of your nails can relate to certain illness -

''Look at your nails. Leading New York dermatologist Joshua Fox says that you may want to see a skin doctor to rule out underlying illness if your nails are:

Curved. Nails that resemble the back of a teaspoon (doctors call them "clubbed") can indicate a lung, heart or liver problem. If they're curved in, like the cup of a teaspoon, and whitish or very pale, you could have anaemia''

this happens to me also!! but on my middle fingers! did you ever used to bite your nails as i did for years and iv put it down to that.what i did is glue a false nail tip (and cut to the same length and shape )to the bent nails to train them to grow straight.once they have grown you soak the false nail off with acetone and your nails straight!! dont rip the false nail off though as it will rip your natuaral nail and it does weaken them a bit but you get a straight nail!! hope this helps xx
My left index fingernail does this and it took me a while to realise that it's how I how my hand with my nail held down onto the fleshy bit below my thumb. Glad it's not just me!
