hmmmmmmm im not too sure this is the right category to be asking this but here it goes: over the past 3 years i have suffured 2 major lacerations (cuts with stiches) on both of my legs, and because of them i can not shave, and i hate waxing. So the other month of two i bought a new hair removal cream, i put in on my legs including thighs and it starts to sting, now i thought this was ok because thats probably the acid or whatever taking our the hairs, however when i washed of the foam 2 minuets later (as it said to do on the packet) the hair is still there! does anyone know why this is or any good cream i can buy?????? and why there is a sting is it bad for me????????

If something stings, don't put it on your skin. Did you do a patch test first? All the hair removal creams I've ever seen (and I've not used them much - prefer wax/epilators), it has to stay on for at least 5 mins.

I'm afraid, I can't recommend anything as I favour waxing and topping up with my epilator (I assume you won't use an epilator either if you don't like wax??? - if that's not the case, then I recommend an epilator)

My hair is also "immune" to hair removal cream, my skin will burn long before the hairs are gone. Tried waxing at home - hopeless.

I eventually went to a salon to get it done. Had about 8 goes now, and regrowth is much reduced in between treatments. Hardly hurts at all, and at �10 a time is probably cheaper than the alternatives!

I think the hair removal creams are crap too. They stink, they are messy and they never work :( oh and they cost a blooming fortune

Some people have thicker hair than others .Hair removal cream is designed to dissolve away the hair at a good pace and before reacting with the skin.However many women find that their skin is too sensitive and burns before the cream has had time to finish on the hairs.If this happens the acid will only react with your skin and not the hair because the acid that is needed on the hairs has been used up on the skin.If it stings do not use the cream again.

I use an epilator. I have to admit i thought it was awful at first, it was so painful, but as i have used it more and more it has become totally painless. It lasts for weeks and my skin feels baby soft.

Can you elaborate on the epilator ... do you just use it on your legs ????

If you are referring to Veet hair removal mousse, then it stung me too, and my friend! We had to remove it before the recommended time as it was starting to burn our skin!

I emailed the company about it but of course no reply!

I find the Boots own brand much better, good luck!
