I can't believe what I heard on our local news earlier, I am English and live in North Wales one of the top cops here does not want to see the English Flag on cars in the area,what a prat,he can get stuffed,mines staying!!!!

Ray - he's fine now, just a bit of hurt pride that's all. The irony is he was born and bred in North Wales himself but doesn't speak Welsh and having left 20 years ago has lost any accent (whether that would have made a difference who knows). Thankfully these morons are in the minority and they certainly won't stop us visiting the relatives and friends we have up there. Thanks for asking x

...I am also from North Wales...and the town where I live is awash with tourists at the moment , it is also awash with cars flying the St. George's Cross... Richard Brunstorm is a complete and utter tw@t at the best of times...but this really does take the biscuit... surley this is adding fule to the fire of the Welsh/English love/hate debate..

Hi ermin, he and his deputy are idiots,and you are so right,no one was taking any notice before he spouted off, I love this area and I also love my football,so he can waffle as much as he wants, most North walians are great,the lads I work with are welsh speaking and they are really nice blokes,no problems at all,take care, Ray

family on my dads side are from South Wales..lovely people :o) I used to live near the North Wales border (Oswestry) so had to suffer a bit of abuse from some North Welsh bigots..they used to love speaking Welsh only when the English were around.

My mate learned a bit of Welsh and gave them what for..the look on their faces was priceless!

fly your flag and be proud why not its not hurting anyone. i'm not a footy supporter but a bit p**sed off as our reception staff had a huge display of balloons, flags etc on show andhave been told to take it down incase they offend our customers ( we're in the midlands) pc gone mad if u ask me!

I am Welsh born, bred & speak it fluently & personally agree with the cop. There`d be uproar if I went to England & flew the Welsh Dragon flag everywhere I went. I hate all sport, so it`s not jelousy because Wales are n`t in the World cup.

Sorry beejay, but I disagree totally,go to England,fly the Welsh flag,no one will mind, England is so multi-cultural,even if you think of all the Mosques and the Notting Hill Carnival, Wales can't survive without England and vise versa,we need each other,both my boys were brought up in Wales and speak Welsh fluently which is great,I love the banter with the welsh lads at work,this cop has made it political,he should shut up and do his job, Look how the welsh flag is flown in Patagonia,so you don't agree with that either then do you????

To be honest, no I don`t. I know that there`s a large Welsh population in Patagonia as there is in other countries, but that particular country`s flag should be respected & flown. If it`s a good enough country to live in it should be respected.

Well beejay< I admire your principals, But I am only flying my little flag to show I am supporting England in the world cup,it is not a political statement, I think the sad ones are the ones in Wales who will fly the flag of any country that is playing England,that can be construed as offensive,because that is blatant anti-England, Take care, nice talking to you,
