my unhappy mouth..continued
i think i have found the reason for my sore gums- i've come up with a bout of mouth ulcers =( i have about 4 and one is on the bit of skin which connects your bottom lip and gums which i think is why i think it is so excruciatingly painful! Every time i move the lower part of my mouth it kills =(
anyone got any pain relief tips that aren't salt (that just hurts!) or bonjela (doesn't do a thing!)?
Thanks! x
p.s. please don't just refer me to the mouth ulcers post!

I'd recommed a chlorhexidine containing mouthwash e.g. Corsodyl and a benzydamine mouthwash or spray for the ulcers topically.
If they don't heal within a week seek medical/dental advice.
Hope this helps
I was actually given this information by my own GP a few years ago when I was suffering from lots of mouth ulcers. It certainly did "numb" the ulcer and enabled me to eat. I'll check with him again when I see him next and find out if his advice has now changed, following what you've said. If you are right, then I apologise to Mermaid.
In the case of a suspected myocardial infarction (heart attack) sublingual crushed aspirin (under the tongue) has some potential benefit for the prevention of thromboembolism.
