ironing 100% cotton shirts

Does anyone have a good way of ironing these shirts? My boyfriend has bought 4 100% cotton shirts from TM Lewin and they are a complete pain in the a*se to iron!! I cannot get the creases out!

I bought some of the 'upmarket' cotton shirts (Paul Smith, Versace etc) in a House of Fraser sale, they look lovely new, but oh so bedraggled when they come out of the washing machine. Since I WILL NOT do any ironing, I set the final spin speed quite low, take them out when they are still quite damp, and dry them on hangars in doorways.
Having survived the early pi$$-takes, people at work now accept that I wear slightly creased (but classy!) shirts.

Wash 'em , Spin on a 1200 if possible to select rate, ( I find 1600 compresses them just too much). Do not tumbledry : unless you can pick a hand iron ,crease free programme, buy some huge hangers , plastic, to support the shape ( I got mine from IKEA ) hang 'til they are almost ( but not completely ) dry. This should make it much easier. It is laundering above and beyond the call of duty, IMHO Why doesn't your boyfriend iron his own shirts - he might choose a different sort next time he is shopping . Also check out all local outlets for a good deal - we have one place here ( West of London) that washes AND presses for a quid. Reclaim some of your time! I hate doing them.

Also, don't worry too much about 100% crease free. My hubby wears Tom Pink and TM shirts too, but I iron them best as. When they are on and the natural creases appear, it seems to be part of the charm of wearing a shirt which shouts across the room "Hey, I'm an expensive 100% cotton shirt; look I have creases to prove it."
Polyester doesn't crease at all which is why it looks like polyester.

I have a couple of 100% cotton shirts and I find that if I put them in the tumble drier on a hot cycle and take them out before the cool air hits them, and hang them up, the creasing is less.
After this, iron with the iron on the hottest setting and use plenty of spray starch, old fashioned maybe, but it will make ironing easier next time as well!
