Dreams during pregnancy
10 Answers
I'm nearly 4 months pregnant & being having the most wierdest dreams. The other night I dreamt of my gran who has been dead 5 years, I woke up really upset because she isn't going to see my baby. Then last night I dreamt that a random bloke at work had been in a car crash & died - I have no reason at all to dream about this man. I'm not sure if its the weather because I'm really struggling to sleep at night or whether its because I'm pregnant. Its also my first scan today so I've got mixed emotions both excited & really nervous. Has anybody else had wierd dreams during pregnancy?

Vivid dreams are very likely during pregnancy. Im not sure if anyone knows why but it is common to experience very strong dreams and nightmares.
I went through my pregnancy with about 200 other women on a messageboard. Many of us would often post about our strange dreams, some of them were even quite rude lol
I wish you all the best for your first scan, its amazing to see the baby there on a screen. Take plenty of tissues and some change for photos, it really is something special.
Oh and can i recommend the pregancy boards on ivillage. http://www.ivillage.co.uk/pregnancyandbaby/boa rds/0,,,00.html they are great to join and you can make friends with many women in exactly the same position as you.

its very difficult to tell sex of baby until 20 week scan and some hospitals wont sex baby at all.
I hope it remains a surprise for you until the birth. Perhaps you could ask on your birth plan that you and your husband discover babys sex yourself rather than have a midwife tell you.
can you come back on here later and let us know how it went?

I'm certainly not pregnant :) but could this have anything to do with the heat ? I rarely dream.... or rarely remember if I have dreamt but these past few nights I've been having really heavy, vivid dreams. We are talking real scary stuff & I'm loving it lol .............. roll on bed time :)
BTW. I now know for certain that I dream in colour, the big spider that jumped on my face last night definitely had a large pink spot on it's back!
Good luck with the scan cc, hope it is a really memorable day for you :)

Hi Cheekycow, i too am 4 months pregnant. (with my second child)... I have had weird dreams including dreaming of my ex! And one dream i dreamt i had twins! (I know it's only one from my first scan).
I have read this is normal, but i know how disturbing some of these dreams can be... at least you know that when you wake up it won't be real and you can let out a big sigh! x
