Why do chavs always take their tops off and have pit bulls?

Any ideas? Not that EVERYONE who has a pit bull is a chav so no offence, I think they're cute, but it's true! ;D

In the early 80's we just called them 'Soul Boys' or 'townies'. However they seemed to be from all walks of life..Chavs are (so I have read) specifically lower class trying to look affluent..ideas above their station! this is a good description of my brother in law.

It's not their background or social status that is unacceptable, Octavius. It's the bloody mentality. In fact, people like my brother in law are the biggest snobs out there..he won't go over to my sisters friends house because she still has the old council approved door fitted.

Thats ok octavious most of us including myself didnt actually say there was anything wrong with having a pitbull, and no shirt on :-) We just said thats what you would call a chav. I take it you are a chav yourself?

Being poor and being a chav are 2 seperate things. Chavs will happily trade in their kids milk tokens for cash to spend in Elizabeth Duke buying god awful huge gold clown pendants. Also, poor people don't have affected limps, chavs do... Soooo many differences, too little time to type them all!
