I have had a very strange day. After 33 years as a GP I have finally retired.I feel a bit sentimental but am ready to enjoy my well deserved retirement.Starting with a trip home to India.I was wondering how everyone else's day has been now I have time on my hands.

Thanks Whiffey - it should have been HbA1. My gp tells me I've got to keep it below 6.5 these days (it used to be 7.0 so the guidelines are getting strictrer, dont knwo why though )

It must be strange to have retired today. Well, every ending is also a beginning - I hope you enjoy your new direction in life!
Oh Dr C........... so realistic and yet............ SO very familiar.

Plank.
lol whiffey you forgot to sign out and in again lol

O.k a few questions here.If I am ill I always know what is wrong with me and I treat myself. The same goes for my children.I check them out and treat them myself.Your HbA1 is fine at 7.0 but nowadays a healthy HbA1 should really be below 6.5 just like you have said however I would say it is nothing to worry about.

Tradey I have an idea of what might be wrong with you but I would not like to say on here. You are going to the Doctor tommorow so he/she will be able to have a good look at you and give you the necessary treatment.I am afraid it does sound quite serious.Good Luck.
What a nice thing to say to someone so worried!

Tradey, please ignore that comment (we all know who the 'Dr' is). Let us know how it goes, hun xxx
WS - so who is the Dr ?

Oh, come off it, whiffey...
Come off what WS ?

A couple of things here. I know what HbA1C is, I know what the brachial plexus is, I know a mnemonic for the branches of the external carotid artery. What does that prove ?

And I don't do unethical cruelty - as the last of the Dr's replies was.
that proves that you know how to use google.
a g p is not allowed to treat his own children or close family members they must be registered with their own . doctor
So, stevie, you'll now be able to find out where Oscar fits into all of this.

whiffey, I think you're missing the point... and being slightly defensive at the same time, might I add!

I haven't actually accused you of being the Dr, have I? I don't give a toss who it is, to be frank. My point was that it is pretty much a given that the 'Dr' is no such thing, so for tradey to ignore the post that was written with the obvious intent to worry her!

Do you see?
