I have just been out with my friends, but at the same time so was my eldest daughter who is eighteen, it felt really wierd meeting in the same pubs etc. Do you think I should stay in when i know she will be out? I don't want to be an embarrassment for her.

If she isn't happy about bumping into you she'll move on. Alternatively, why not do the following - you both make a list of your fav places, any that are duplicated agree on a rota system for visiting. I know that takes away a bit of the spontaneity but would it hurt that much to agree before going out? If you like clubbing there are usually over 21s over 25s and over 30s club nights that your daughter shouldn't be able to go to.
However, If you are turning up at a rave, or going clubbing at young persons clubs, or dressing up like a fashion struck teenager then I would suggest (for the sake of keeping the peace) that you try and go to places where you aren't likely to bump into your daughter. I'm lucky - my sons and daughters don't mind bumping into me when we're all out ~ but I suspect that has more to do with the fact that they'll be hoping for a handout. Ahh what it is to be a parent LOL

This is part of the embarrassment, her friends male and female think I'm cool! and I think she she's sick of the old liners...what really that's your mum, no!
I don't mean that in a bigheaded way, I don't think I look so young, just others say so.... I don't do anything to try to be cool, I don't dance much, I don't smoke anything, I don't dress in Topshop and i don't wear much slap!
