My sister's husband Sean is a bloke and a half and he's been there supporting me through every bit of crap in my life. He's a great big Ox of a guy, with a great personality and is kindness itself in a rough and ready kind of way. His kids are really lucky to have had a father like him. My own brother, although we used to be close has drifted in opposite directions to me, and my other sister and her family I have very little to do with, but Sean is 100% great bloke.

he sounds fantastic nox. funnily enough i have a brother who doesn't speak to me anymore :-( I am so much closer to my husbands family than him! How sad.
I do have a sister - and she's a full weight cow</>! Anyone want her?

Since my husband only has a brother (who's very nice, by the way), I don't really have a positive sister figure in my life. Last year, though, I spent some time with my aunt in the US, and we got on really well. She doesn't have daughters or, for that matter, any close female friends, so I think we've formed a relationship that's very sisterly in its outlook.

Her son (my cousin) and I have also formed a very close but long-distance friendship over the years. He is my best friend and I actually consider him to be more of a sibling to me than my own sister.
My sister died ten years ago and her husband died not long after that. But I still have three brothers and three great sister in laws.Albeit one pair of them live thousands of miles away in Australia. Being the youngest in my family ..my next sibling is 16 years older than me so I have nieces and nephews who are close in age to me ! They are lovely girls and much like sisters to me.My eldest niece is only two years younger than me !!
This is what I'm hoping for, especially now having rerad all these lovely posts - thank you.

My younger and only brother's very hard to get close to and we've never really got to know each other an,d i've not seen him for a year and a half :(

He's been seeing a girl for a couple of years now and it seems like it's really serious and although i've not met her yet we've spoken a few times on the phone and she sounds soooo lovely! She handmade me the most beautiful scarf for Christmas, the work that must have gone into it mkes it so special.

My mum went up to stay with them and is raving about her and I'm hopeful that we'l become really good friends (always felt the lack of a sister) and that will help me get to know and get closer to my brother :)

Thank you all for giving me hope :) xxx

all the best jenna, sounds like you might just get the sister you've always wanted and as you said, it will do wonders for bringing you and your brother back together again. xx
I have gained the perfect family thanks to my parents divorcing and remarrying. I now have 8 grandparents all alive and well, and 4 wonderful parents. I also have step siblings who are like real brothers and sisters to me. I wouldn't swap my family for anything. It has made me realise how much I want a HUGE family of my own one day. Just got to find a rich husband now!
