Karate or taikwondo

If this is in the wrong section i apologise is seemed the most apropriate:-
i am thinking of taking up martial arts as a hobby, whats the difference between karate & taikwondo, also is 33 to old to be starting??

you are never too old, I do Karate twice a week and a guy there (must be in his 60's) has just got his black belt. Its so much fun, give it a go!

I also just wanted to say that you are never too old. And martial arts is the best hobby on so many level, which ever one you choose - the best way to decide is probably to go to some local classes and see which one you prefer.... A lot probably depends on your reasons for taking up the hobby - do you want fitness, self confidence, self defence, discipline etc Good luck with whatever you chose and have fun! You'll be fine as long as you chose something you enjoy.
