Sorry to add this but cant resist,

You don't have to live near the coast to be able to get crabs......

Sorry lowering the tone.
I'm starving hungry after all this talk of food and She wont let me in the kitchen to raid the fridge as she has just washed the floor!!!!!
floridian, I have to disagree with you too. Living very close to the sea wet fishmongers abound. However, I was perturbed to stand in the queue and watch a large blowfly walking over the cockles and oysters which presumably will be eaten as bought.

Most supermarkets stock a wide range of fish, even halibut and turbot if you are lucky, and the solution to bland salmon is to marinade it in a chilli sauce for an hour prior to 30 mins at gas mark 6. Serve with new potatoes and brroccolli.
Spurslady!! you just killed my appetite!!

When I first moved here, I was able to go down to the harbour and buy fish off the boats that had just come in. We also had a fantastic fish monger wither everything the fish lovers heart could want. Sadly though it is now no longer possible to buy directly off the boats, although they still land their fish here. And the fishmonger - well he got done for smuggling drugs and is now serving a very, very long sentence in jail! FOOL! Much to our delight though the fishermen have joined together and recently opened a little shop up in the village. Otherwise it would just be Sainsburys, Tesco and Morrisons who all have fish counters. Nothing like buying fresh fish directly from the fishermen though!!!
Sorry Ratter I couldnt help it. I getthese naughty urges every now and again.

Will this help?

They sell them in my local Morrisons and they always package them up and put them in the reduced section, because no one will buy the horrible looking things.
