This is advisable because of the natural sugars in fruit. Although we consider fruit to be healthy, the sugars are not good for type 2 diabetics. Green apples are considered OK as they don't have too much sugar in them.

Thanks but i hate green apples!!
You need to eat low glycemic foods.

Fruits you can eat are apples, pears, oranges, kiwi fruits and all the berries. No fruit juice especially citrus juices.
Oh, that doesn't help you much then sorry. I know its a pain, my husband is diabetic and has to restrict the amount of fruit he eats. Last time he was in hospital the diet police confiscated all his grapes etc, and left him with some granny smith apples! Not much fun.
You could always try buying the packs of sliced fruit etc. I know its more expensive but the nutritional info on the label will help you work out what the sugar content is, unlike fresh fruit which has no guidelines.
