does having flat feet prevent him from enjoying sport ????
i think not !! so he wont be a professional in his chosen sport but he can still participate...
if he`s keen, why not get him to try another sport ??
swimming is as good as any sport i can think of and flat feet wouldnt be a disadvantage.
cycling is another sport that he could try...
i cant understand why him being flat footed is a problem....
Flat feet can be very painful, as my husband who is a postman will tell you. He has only just develped it after 23 years of plodding the streets, but despite buying arch supports, good trainers, and expensive shoes, nothing has worked. His GP told him to consult a Podiatrist (different to a Chiropodist apparently), but it doesn't seem to be very cheap! Good luck to your son.
I have flat feet and was a marathon runner for many years till breakages in both feet put a stop to it.
He can get in soles, But I would have him referred to an osteopathist as its good to get him sorted whilst he is young.
The Osteo will probably get him things to put in his shoes

Thanks very much for the replies he is going to see a Podiatrist (is that correct spelling) to get insoles - he is also making a conscious effort to play on his toes, more elegantly so some good has come from this diagnosis.
