I used to suffer migraines years ago that would continue until I was sick. It was eventually discovered that I was
allergic to horseradish of all things, have'nt touched it since, and I have'nt had a migraine since.........touch wood.
Just a thought as I have heard of other people with the same allergy.

The only thing I found that relieves mine are Migraleve. If it happens to be daytime, laying down wearing an eye mask on helps too.

If I have a tension headache I usually take two Syndol - they're very good too.

I've been getting migraines most of my life. I've had all the allergy tests and have been told by specialists that I am only allergic to changes in weather pressure and stress. Mine can last max 5 days at a time. More recently only three days, but I have to stay in bed, lights out, cold packs on head and back of neck etc.. I take Migraleve but find they don't always work and leave me with a sort of jet lag - so two or three days of feeling run down and tired after the migraine itself has stopped.
I 've just started taking 'Nurofen for Migraines' which seems very good at stopping an early migraine and it doesn't make me feel sick. Drinking lots of water is helping and my doc has given me Propanolol to help prevent migraines in the first place. It is a heart med, but has this side effect. Evening fresh air, so no sunshine, helps and I seem to need to eat carb rich food in very small amounts regularly when I have a migraine, not sure why though. It isn't something I normally do.

hello angelasashes..
thankfully i havnt had a full blown migraine for years now.
my cure, or at least part cure is not a medecine. i let my head drop back slightly so the muscles in my neck go relaxed. (the muscles that run up the neck to the base of the skull) i then lightly squeeze the muscles with equal and sustained pressure. if i apply too much pressure it can make the pain increase. get the pressure right and within a couple of minutes, the pain drains away... its not a total cure but it IS amazing how fast it works. i guess im hitting a pulse point and recucing blood flow.... only a guess but it works for me..

I have had migraine ever since I was about 7 or 8, but now at 54 I only get them about once a year. When my sons were small they used to be looking round for the zig zag lines I described to them!! I used to be sick too when younger, but now just feel sick and get left with a stinking headache. I just take Migraleve and sit in the dark with my eyes closed until I can see properly again - I keep having a crafty peek every so often.
Isn't it horrible when you just know you're going to get it!

Headache is a pain in the head, scalp or neck. Headaches can be
