Hey Guys! I'm Getting My 1st Tattoo Tomorrow...

My question is how much do they hurt!?! I'm thinking of getting the letters "P.F.C" on my underarm which represents the club i love Portsmouth F.C, the sleeping giant. I've had lots of needles in my life due to illness but i'm wondering how much it hurts as they put more pressure on apperantly and go really fast. So, how much do they hurt? Do some aspects of tattooing hurt more than others i.e the outline and colouring in. I simply want "P.F.C" on my underarm, my arms aren't massive but i'm sure it'll look alright. Do the letters hurt, my first one tomorrow and i'm nearly 19?!? Thanks guys.

Ok thanks Carla. I'm a little softie when it comes to this things lol. I will get in there and feel sick with nerves but as usual something which i think will be agony is bearable.

Its ok. Some places hurt more than others. The outline is the most painful part. I found the nape of my neck and my ankle the most painful places, but not actually painful. Its an odd sensation and its very addictive. Gives you a little buzz, like piercing. Most people do get a little addicted.

How is it addictive Soulette? I don't see how it's possible for it to be addictive, but then again i'm not arguing as you've had it done, not me, yet.

The pain will be unbearable, after all having a Portmouth FC tattoo on Your arm for all to see would be extremely painful.

Ermmmm..... I dont know how it is addictive but I dont know anyone who has stopped at one. I know lots of people who would keep having more but its a matter of cost.

i have three, the one on my back hurt the most, lots of colour, it took 2hrs once a week for three weeks, and the ones on my arms only took an hour, eat lots of jelly babies or jelly sweets, it thickens the blood and makes the life of the artist a bit easier, the pain is there, but it soon becomes more of a burning feeling, its hard to describe, and avoid any alcohol, enjoy............

Just make sure its a reliable tattooist that's doing it.

I've got 2,one on boob(devil),one on shoulder(dragon).They can hurt having them done but its not too unpleasant.

Everyone on the council estates are getting them I hear, they are a good addition to a hooded top and staffordshire terrier.

mine hurt a bit, but i am a wuss when it comes to pain!!! i would like another one but i think a bottle of vodka and a few painkillers would be required!!!!
