If you move it away from infront of the door you may be able to get out once in a while :-)
awww feng shui!!

pronounced feng shwee. it's a chinese thing i think and its all about how placing your furniture in certain places can bring you good luck and bad luck..

FOR example! Apparantly having your bed facing a mirror is bad. I cant think of any others at the mo. Hope this helped!

Its to do with good energy and negative energy. People who practice feng shui dont believe in a lot of wood in the house, so watch your table or it`ll be firewood next.
I thought wood fills a room witth energy
There is a lot to be said for Feng Shui. I often put things in certain corners of the house or different parts of the house. No-one else knows what you have done, they are none the wiser but it really works. I recently moved our bed so that we were sleeping against a north facing wall, WOW! I now sleep a good 7 hours a night and the dreams (!!?). Before my sleep was very eratic and I had bad dreams (but I was lying under the eaves of the window which they say is not good for you, neither is it good to sleep under wooden beams) whereas now it really does work. Buy a book on FS - give it a go, you have nothing to lose.
I thought it was pronounced 'fung shway'.

Anyway, for a place to have "good feng shui" is for it to be in harmony with Nature, to have "bad feng shui" is to be incongruous with Nature.

Bearing in mind that one of it's basic guidelines is that stairs should NEVER face the front door, I think that banjaxes most houses in the Western world. And the issue over the wood is a constant misnomer. Providing you balance all five Chinese elements of wood, fire, earth, metal and water, you can create a feng shui balance within the qi.
Wood represents life force and spirit. Too much wood can cause the energy to become too vigorous or aggresive.
Hmmm, yeah this feg shui thing is good sometimes. i always make sure i have a nice cool can of pop or beer in the fridge, which i have next to my settee. Also i always make sure the towel is easy to grab after i have had a shower. Everything has to be in its right place for me...
i think MrBen5 has got the idea!

how moving a table affects youre life i dont know....unless you trip over it when you get up in the night. 'who left that damn table there?!'
Mr Ben, you are indeed velly good master!! But there is something in it, it just depends if you are prepared to put some time and thought into it. All I can say is, it worked for me.

MrBen5 another useful piece Feng Thingy is always is always have the menu for your local chinese deliver service next to the phone
eyeshade...you say buy a book on Feng Shui...you have nothing to lose?...........What if nothing happens, we`ve lost the price of the book surely?

If I see a Feng Shui book under a fiver I`ll buy it just to see if it works
But where would you keep the book?

Presumably next to the one-eyed toad god?
My brother worked for a leading UK Feng Shui magazine and happily confirmed it was complete bunkum made up by the staff on the spot.

Then they'd get letters from readers telling them how their suggestions had revolutionised their lives...
so basically it's down to to the Placebo affect?
That is probably more positive and feng... shuiiy than the nocebo effect.
