Wear a black tie possibly??
It means you must be dressed in a suit and black tie!
Here you go this should help you in future, dont worry that you didnt know, very rare you get black tie do's nowadays :-)

Curiosly enough "Black tie" does not mean you must wear a black tie, it means a dinner suit with a bow tie, usually black but not necessarily. Ladies should wear evening dress.
