Best & Worst Place to live in UK..
10 Answers
I sat and watched this programme on Channel 4 last night and got very depressed. I moved from Tunbridge Wells (3rd Best) to Bridport in West Dorset (10th Best). I then moved to Manchester (10th Worst).... Did anyone else watch it? Do you live in the best or the worst?

I live in Edinburgh and can honestly say that there is nowhere quite like it. Major arts and comedy festivals, beautiful cityscapes and countryside (around AND inside the city!), the Forth Rail Bridge, the castle, the Hogmanay celebrations etc. etc.
Does have a problem with parking I suppose and with that comes an increase in traffic wardens, so it's not all milk and honey. ;-)

it showed manchester as a whole city/area and then compared it to places like West Dorset! I know that they compared performance indicators and that in theory is comparing like for like but is it realistic to compare the whole of a massive city to Epsom? They were in essence comparing local authority areas. and HOW annoying was the sinister flirting with Kirstie's younger more irritating sister?
I used to live in Newham and it is an absolute toilet they can put as much money in as they like it is still a ****** hole and always will be it should have been number 1 on the list - I was there 5 years and hated every minute of it! They were wrong saying you have to pay 190k for flat in Newham I sold mine for 160k 6 months ago and mine was pricey by the standards over there and there is a reason why it is so cheap and thats cos its horrible, dangerous, dirty and no one has any respect for people themselves or other peoples property

Methodology
In order to compile our results for The Best and Worst Places to Live in the UK: 2006 we judged all 434 UK local authorities on exactly the same criteria - crime, education, employment, environment and lifestyle.
To determine how important each of the criteria is to people in the UK, ICM interviewed 837 people across the country aged between 18 and 65. They were asked which would be most important to them if they were to consider moving home, and to then rank the rest in order. They prioritised the criteria as follows:
1. Crime
2. Environment
3. Lifestyle
4. Education
5. Employment
