If we achieve perfection, it will be when we spend no money at all. All news is directed at cutting costs, spending less, increasing efficiency (oh gawd how many ways has that been interpreted)
So, when we get there, after all the job cuts, everybody will have a huge salary, public spending will be zero, and we can all spend our money on - well on WHAT ?
Humanity is 99% driven by personal comfort and gain. It is as simple as that. Which will win, the 1% or the 99% ?

Prehistoric man existence, with no money, was purely to survive, the need for personal comfort over the ages has driven invention ever forward, I feel know we have reached a peak our personal comforts are now met and all people do now are live complicated stressful lives. There are now a growing number of people who are turning their backs on what is euphemistically called the 'rat race' and seeking to return to a less money led life in which they can enjoy more simple pleasures, these people seem to be happy, so I like to think the 1% will win.

yes you have to admit...the person who craves nothing is the happiest of all!!
i would LOVE to ditch my mobile phone and i can clearly remember not having one 10 years ago, but it would be impossible to lead a normal life without it!!
so in my eyes, life will always be for the 99%!!!
but i am envious of the 1%!!!!!!!

Maybe for a lot whiffey, I gave up a well paid job in London 25 years ago because I realised that there is more to life than Money and material things, I moved to North Wales for Quality of life, and no regrets, 6 months ago I was offered a job back in London with a really good salary 100,000 + per year for a 4 year contract, I thought for all of 5 seconds before saying NO, I love my lifestyle.
Good question Whiffster....
I always think I'm driven by personal comfort but whenever put in situations where I'm offered something that looks good on paper I have found that I choose the path that lets me keep my freedom to do what I want.... apparently that's what makes happiest.
It does not however help with the bills ;0)
