The origin of the hairstyle that all the ladies are having done this season.
Don't tell me it's Victoria bl00dy Baeckham!!!

surely it is some derivation of an earlier style, perhaps from the Twenties or something like that?

Come on you "hair"storians! ho ho!

well think about the 60's, clothing repoductions and vintage garments are coming back into fashion this season so I guess the hair could be something to do with that? I don't know which style you're talking about... the bob?
I would say her hairstyle is a combination of the 20's, 60's & 80's!

I had a graduated bob in the early 80's, not unlike Mrs Beckhams although maybe a little heavier..not as wispy.
well have a look at louise brooks, girls in the 20's followed her and she set alot of trends, especially the hair. If you think about some of the fashions today, ie the long tunic with dropped waist or a belt worn low with it, well that's from the 20's too.
You are right, loukr. Women have been choosing the Louise Brooks hairstyle ever since she sported it..it was very daring for the time, and I have seen this style worn by all types of women for yonks.

It doesn't appear to ever gone out of fashion!

Even Velma from Scooby Doo had a longer version ;o)
yeah! not my cup of tea though.. I sported one when I was about 10.. before straighteners were around and my hair was awful, never went wher I wanted it to go!!
Ahhhh...see that's where I am lucky. I can carry off a bob 'do' no probs as my hair is poker straight! a great thing now that straight hair is fashionable, but in the 'curly' years I had to have perms.

Oh...Deidre Barlow/Orphan Annie there I went ;o)
You know the first time I read your post I thought it said 'perhaps from the tweenies or something' How uncanny that she looks like the girl from the tweenies :-)
Is this how Vicky Beckham looks in the morning?

I think the revival was brought about by the American? girl ice skater who partnered David Seaman on the celebrity ice dance show. A bit longer and fuller than bobs before.
Oh yes, Christina Cousins (Canadian).

I can't find a pic of her but she had a very nice hairdo.
