Iam sitting here, on a sunday afternoon, 16, when all my friends are going out and crying for no reason. I think it's because i'm listening to 'sailing' and 'purple rain' and also thinking about sad events in my life. Do you ever feel like this? i know its a bit daft, but i feel quite depressed actually and i have nothing to be depressed about!

thank yoo! It must be the old hormones playin up lol have a nice day xxx
I get that all too often :( im dragging myself to go out though now even though im not in the mood whatsoever lol!
Cheer up get a nice drink inside you :) x
It really sucks when you feel like this. I find watching comedy programmes on TV make me feel better even if I'm in a terrible mood. Stick on one of the comedy channels and have a laugh.

Big hug :-)
i get it wen the winter/dark evenings come.....its nothing to get depressed about....but i do....

and ive had a brill day too.....lol......

and its monday tomorrow !!!
Yeah, we've all been there but it does get better, honest. Looking back, I remember a lot of that. Feeling so depressed, crying over some sad song which seemed to have lyrics that echoed all these feelings I was experiencing. I and everyone else who's left answers has obviously come through it, and you will too hun. I think its hormones too. Remember there are people here to talk to if you're having a real bad day :-)

I actually dont mind mondays so i suppose thats good xx
Hi Missy - poor you! I know I blame lots of things on hormones but honestly they do play havoc with your emotions. Truly you are not the first 16 year who has spent the afternoon crying to sad songs and you won't be the last. I still have those moments and I'm 48!

All I can do is send you a big hug and a kiss

PS Also listen to something more cheerful that will help!Swap Purple Rain for Party 'til it's 1999 and Sailing to Hot Legs (I'm assuming you mean Rod Stewart and Prince or am I just being 'old' LOL!)
Do something about it, don't just wallow. Wallow for a bit if you like, but when being miserable's just - well, miserable - then take control of your life, it's so empowering. As people have said - watch comedies, listen to upbeat music, CHOSE TO MAKE IT BETTER. A really good thing is to do something vigorous - go for a fast walk, a swim, put some dance music on and bop about like a maniac. Exercise stimulates the adrenaline, serotonin, whatever it is, it just makes you feel better, takes your mind off it, shifts the blocked energy. I know what I'm talking about I've been there. It may not work for everyone, but it works for me and it's worth a try because melancholy may be deliciously gothic but it's not a patch on having a good time.
Good luck, MissyR
You'll laugh about this in a few years, trust me.
