Diabetes symptoms?

A friend is convinced I have diabetes and is urging me to get one of those free tests. I will do, but just wondering what the typical symptoms are?

I'm a diabetic and the first sign I noticed was when I suddenly found I could no longer clearly see the far end of the High Street, which had never been a problem before. My GP got me to wee on a little 'stick' and, when the end of it - the stick, that is! - turned brown, I was immediately informed that I had the disease. The other sign, as someone outlined above, was a far greater than normal thirst.
Whatever...go to your doctor without further delay!

luckyeight I posted on this subject before so apologise but have to tell you that 2 summers ago Mr Sunflower was coming home with armfuls of empty water bottles. He was so tired and was thin but we put it down to the workload and diet.
It was only after incessant nagging that he went to the doc. He managed to call me at work to tell me he had been rushed to A&E on the docs advice; he was days from dying!
His blood sugar level was 32. A healthy reading is 5.6.
He is now a happy, insulin-dependant diabetic.
I blame myself for not nagging MORE at the time but we didn't know the facts then.
Get checked out - if you have it it will be easily controllable and you will feel so much healthier when you have the proper amounts of insulin you need in your body. x
