I grazed my elbow and put a plaster on it to keep it clean. Unfortunately I don't think the plster was in particularly good shape as it was taken out of a box which had a mismatch of different plasters in and was quite old! So the wound has got a bit infected and has gone all scabby with a bit of pus in the middle.. It's all sealed over now and seems to be healing but my mum says to bathe it in dettol and stop it from staying dry, otherwise I might get an abscess! :-O

What do ABers think I should do?

The formation of the scab is part of the healing process, so I'd advise you to leave it. Pick it off and stop it from drying and you run the risk of it developing into an ulcer.

If it hurts or is swollen or just doesn't seem to be healing, then I would have a chat with your pharmacist (which wouldn't hurt in any case) just to make sure everything's OK.

Just make sure you keep it clean, and cover it if there's any risk of getting it dirty or knocked.
