Is this always itchy? Son has been diagnosed with eczema around his mouth and chin, however i am doubtful as son said its never itchy. It looks more like a rash mainly on his chin feels slightly raised. Not really noticeable unless you are fairly close up to him. No other parts of his body are affected.

Anyone got any ideas?

Many thanks

my son and my neice have this only been the past few weeks as its cold i just put it down to chapped skin just keep putting lots of cream on xx hope this helped x
If it is fairly new, it my get itchier in the future. I have always found that rubbing in pure oil of evening primrose helps.
My daughter had a similar sounding thing round her mouth when she was little which was diagnosed as excema.
But when we moved and changed Doctors he said it was bacterial and gave me some ant-bacterial cream of some sort and it cleared up in 3 days and never returned.
Get a second opinion.
Don't know if your son is a baby or child but the fact that it's round his mouth makes it sound like it's due to moisture.
Sorry-ANTI-bacterial. Your problem isn't caused by ants!!!
try homeopathic sulphur tablets from boots of holland and barrett.
mine does not always itch, but i am grown up now (honest) in my mid 30's. when i was young i can remember having my hands bandaged to stop me scratching my fingers and the backs of my legs though.
I don't itch all the time either. Mainly its very very dry or cracked in winter, and itchy in summer
