i made a mistake at work this morning, and was told by the boss "my head is up my a55" called me a "d1ckhead" and told me to "p1ss off" would anybody else stand for this treatment?

i know not many other people at this company would stand for it and would say something back, infact i dont think he would talk to anyone else the way he just did me. I am fuming, i feel like walking out, no job is worth being given this kind of treatment or am i just being naieve??

saanen......dont judge me!

i have been bullied in the work place by bosses who are so arrogant and up themselves that they think they are allowed to behave this way.
they were like this with various other people too - i was even told by longerstanding employees that he had singled me out as a scapegoat to hide his own incompetence!

i don't give a crap if they are "good enough to give me a job" - they have no right to behave that way!!!
If this has happened before and it's just you he singles out with this kind of behavior, I think you need to to go to your H.R. department and find someone to speak to about this. It can be totally confidential and not only will you receive conselling on how to deal with this in future but you'll also be made aware of your rights as an employee. So the next time your boss has an outburst you can calmly tell him that you are aware of your rights and his aswell and he has no right to treat/talk to you like that so would he mind showing you the respect that you show him.

If you tolerate this kind of behavior from anyone at work, then yes, you are naieve.
No I wouldn't - this is bullying - take out a grievance or approach his boss if he has one if not ask a solicitor what would happen if you resigned and took him to a tribunal!
Of course if the mistake was so bad then he should discipline you according to company policy
