Ginger hair

My best mate has just had a ginger baby. She told me he was blonde!! He is very ginger. I have no problem with ginger hair, but she always used to slag it off in her sisters' kids! Anyway, she is very blonde (completely, no brown in her hair) and her husband has light brown hair. I was quite surprised that they produced a ginger baby. Should I not be surprised with these two colourings?

No you shouldn't be surprised...I know a couple with darkish brown hair, who have produced two kiddlywinks, both with ginger hair! Perhaps its rust ! Lol :-)

its not always a ''family thing'' my wifes friend has 4 sisters, her mum & dad have dark hair and all the girls have dark hair barring one.

I have loads of people with ginger hair in my family too ummmm. However, they're not quite the full ticket.

Don't get me going on the ginger thing again!! Gingerism is a genetic fault not a mix of hair colours, its true!! its been proved, and only found in Scotland or people of Scottish decent.

Yes she was scathing of her sister's kids who had ginger hair- mean, isn't it!! And it looks like karma is doing it's job!

The same thing happened to my sister-in-laws best mate they used to laugh at ginger haired people till she had her last baby. When she rang her to say the baby had been born and it had red hair, she thought she was pulling her leg till she saw for herself that she had very very red hair. But she is such a pretty little thing her hair colour is lovely. People pay a fortune dying their hair that colour.

she obviously carries the ginger gene.some people with ginger hair go on to have babies with brown hair.it depends on the partner's genes and which one is the dominant one.
