Well, you are in effect asking people to help you deceive someone.....You can't be surprised of getting mixed reactions.
I agree that you didn't ask for opinions on your life choices, but the wording of your post highlights them, and it's hard to ignore the context of your question. Anyway, enough of that. Merry Christmas to you.

Well, I just don't know, but I am really appalled that you are being judged - even scruff said it was a provacative question !!! It was a real question, posed well - it didn't provoke lifestyle questions but some folks just dive in with comments. Good luck to you - hope you find something and have a great christmas !!!
Hi jelly-baby, I agree with noxlumos but I probably wouldn't get him something like jewellry... way too suss.. in reality, what are the chances of him buying himself something fancy or expensive? Think of it being the other way round, if you were the wife, what would make you suss? Although you could buy him something he would enjoy and leave it at your house? Failing that, a romantic weekend away would blow his socks off! Live and let live, I say..... as long as you're both happy X
I asked a question ages ago and had a nightmare of responses and it turned into a horrible slanging match with assumptions a-plenty... basically everyone thought I was lying about a particular date I went on, which is completely and utterly pointless, especially on a site like this..... it really upset me for the whole day... ;C
