im 16 and im really skinny, i think its in my genes because all my brothers and uncles etc are as thin as rakes. how do i effectively gain body weight?
AHA, How about trying those body building drink's from health shops? My oldest son (36) is 6ft,eat's almost everything under the sun yet he's as thin as a rake. His dad,grandad and uncle's were the same as well so it must be in the gene's.
Eat lots of hard veg such as potatoes, sweet potatoes, loads of greens, carrots- WITH protein, which is what your muscles and body requires to gain good weight, such as lean meat and fish. When you reach around 21 your body starts to change shape and you will gain weight anyway. U need to eat both carbs (starchy type food) and protein to gain weight. It wont hurt to do some light toning extercises as well (not cardio).
I forgot to add DO NOT take body building drinks without doing excersise as these drinks are only designed for people who do high intensity excersises and at your age you should not take them- it is irresponsible and can damage your health. My brother used to take them to gain weight and he ended up in hospital with liver problems.
