R4 yesterday referred to them as 'professionals'. The whole thing is horrible, but I sense the possibility of the future glorification of prostitution, and maybe even a degree course in it at many universities.
They still hide from the camera though, don't they.
I don't see why they have to refer to their method of earning a living at all. They're women, first and foremost and murder victims. How they earn a crust has nothing to do with it in my eyes. Just get them and lock them up.
I agree Bloaterbum. It's about time we started getting a damn sight more sever with drug pushers. They are more of a threat to our youngsters lives than any more prominent crimes. The majority of the girls probably wouldn't be on the streets but for those scum who got them addicted
keeprockin-its nobodys fault but their own that they are on heroin.
Again i think this is a sick crime and hope they catch this sicko soon, nobody deserves to have their life taken away
I have to wonder whether the drugs came into the equation before or after the poor girls started working... :o(
In any case, I only had to glance at a photo on the front page of a newspaper...of one of the victims cuddling her 3 little daughters. It upset me to the core.
That's not always the case. There has been reported cases of the scum selling crack to schoolchildren, and such drugs are more or less immediately addictive. Again.they're only on hard drugs because some low life peddled them. Youngsters experiment without realising just how serious the consequences. We should adopt the same policies as middle/far east countries and throw the key away on pushers. The vast majority of crimes as burglary, shop lifting and such are down to needing to feed a drug Habit
iv never tried it either but an ex of mine is on it he was dabbling for 8 months before he got addicted but nobody held a knife to his throat he took it on his own accord.
i also think maybe it depends on the circle of friends we have but i no if my friends started takin drugs and offered it to me i would just say no and walk away
I have heard a lot about prostitutes turning to drugs after they start the job ~ often first given to them for 'nowt' by their pimps in order to free inhibitions.
It's my guess that this happens to the majority of prostitutes, rather than them starting the work to feed the drug habit..it may have just been a vicious circle. But that's just a guess.
Yes they do still hide from the camera whiffey because a lot of people are judgemental prats who will victimise them and their children if they don't. Nice world we live in where people are judged by someone else's narrow morals and are made to hide to protect those they love.
what difference does it make what their proffession is, i'm sure they did not tell the careers advisor " mmmm i think i'd like to be a prostitute", they are people like us all and have the same wants and desires in life, they are especially vulnerable and should be shown more love and attention, and what ever happens, prostitution has and will always go on, so it should be legalised now, so they can be given some form of protection
