I guess we celebrate New Year because it is the end of one era and the beginning of a new one, so psychologically we start afresh on the first day of a new calendar year and its an easy date to remember. Yes I make resolutions and I keep them pretty much. I keep within my limits though. Last year's resolutions were to iron everything as soon as it was dry and not let a pile mount up, and not to leave dishes soaking in the washing up bowl, and leave the kitchen tidy before I went to bed and to purchase a ticket for a long standing internet friend to fly over. I kept all resolutions apart from the ironing one that lasted until October. I'll make a resolution about the ironing again for the new year.
Hi China doll, i dont bother with new years resolutions because i never can keep them.
I would say we celebrate the new year so we have an excuse to get very very drunk!
Old year out, new one in, hoping for some reason it will be better than the one before it! Usually just the same thoug!h lol I must admit, when i have had a particularly bad year, i am always glad to se the back of it!
I'm with Julie...i dont bother with New Year's Resolutions because i cant keep them either.
I celebrate New Year but i always find it an emotional time and i dont know why...maybe its because of the obscene amount of alcohol we consume!!! I think it is just another excuse to get plastered xxxx
I normally make them, but give up in the first 2 weeks or so of the year, although last year I pledged to read a book a month and I have kept to it!
This coming year tho, I am going to resign from my awful job and do something that will engage my brain and make my 9-5 day seem more worth while. Even thinking about it makes me feel positive!
