Impetigo Vs Coldsore

How do I know which one I have??

I have read up on both, don't actually need to know what they each involve... just how do I tell them apart? What's the difference?

Impetigo is a lot more itchy, and pussy, also forms a really yellowy scab, will spread quite easily too. I had cold sores for years at high school and eventually it cleared but then my mates got impetigo and I realised that was what I had had, so I now know if it doesn�t go away after a while its impetigo.

i had it when i was a teen it feels wet all the time and its mostly on your chin not nice at all

Just go to the docs if you're not sure, they will give you antibiotics if it is impetigo. wish I'd have gone, instead I spent years wearing scarfes and big polo necks :-)

Went to the Doc on Thurs said "I have a coldsore" she didn't look, just gave me Aciclovir tablets.

I've had it 12 days now & not improved which is strange (had millions of the goddamn things, usually almost gone by now) which is why I'm now thinking it may be something else.

God another Doc appt at 4:40pm... will make sure she inspects it this time!!

definately no kissing till you know. Impetigo is very contagious. I know ;-)
