Whatever the side effects are are quitting smoking, the future benefits, both financial and health wise, will far surpass the niggles now.

Just remember if you light up a cigarette, or fag as I believe they are called amongst the lower classes, you will smell like a cancer ridden piece of meat with little self respect.

Is it worth it??

Continue breathing the fresh air God gave us and never look back.

Keep it up -- remember if you have just one cigarette you will have to go through it all again . Believe me you will eventually feel great and will wonder why you ever smoked at all. GOOD LUCK.

Patriciah, congratulations and well done, you are doing fantastically well, be strong and just remember to think of all the benefits you will gain, there is nothing to lose. As dot says take loads of vitamins, drink orange juice and keep yourself well, be strong.

I am so sorry i truly love the smell of cigarettes on a ladies breath, clothes and fingers. But the best smell is the stale, heavy aroma in the house the day after.

I also like the browning of the teeth and yellowing of the fingers. The creme de la creme however, is the premature ageing and wrinkles that so befits the modern woman.

I further enjoy the fairer sex who can not walk up a flight of stairs without coughing up large modules of thick green phlegm, topped with a good bout of emphasema and general wheezeness.

Overall, if I were to ever place a lonely hearts ad, I would insist that my ideal match is a heavy smoker.

You carry on smoking PatH. You clearly want to if you fail to see a link with cancer and cigarettes.

I apologise for once being an anti-smoker. I think I may now start. Are Dunhill a good choice to begin with? I can't wait.

Why is it when I speak the truth about smoking people get all touchy and patronising?

If I was a kiddy fiddler and came on here saying how well I am doing since giving up blah blah would I get support? No. And if my logic serves me right kiddy fiddling doesn't kill people but smoking does.

What a strange world we live in when I offer God's honest truth about smoking and people have a rant.

Re-phrase, if you are a smoker you increase your chances of getting cancer. It does NOT mean you will definitely get cancer and even if you do, there is such a thing as surviving it!
apart from that though,there are many many more reasons not to do it, most of which have been mentioned above.

thanks warpig, truth is NOT everyone who smokes gets cancer and dies!!!!! It is an increased possibility but not set in stone! Thats like saying if you like a drink, you will get psorosis (sp) of the liver and die, just because it CAN happen!
