i am wanting to lose some weight and tone up at the same time. someome recommended a piece of equipment , from argos i think, where you sit on the floor and pull forward and it makes sit ups easy. as i have a hiatus hernia, do you think i could use this piece of equipment or do you think it would put too much strain on this area?

I am sure that you should consult your GP before partaking of any strenuous excercise, and i guess it will say that in the destruction leaflet for the equipment.

Sit ups aren't meant to be easy and if they are easy then you're not doing them right and therefore, having no effect. I don't know what kind of hernia that is but it doesn't sound like you should be straining your muscles too much if you have a hernia anyway.
