Have you ever tried to make contact with the department, get to know some of the staff and make some contacts who could help you along the way and suggest any ways that may make you a more promising candidate and give you an edge over others applying?

Have you looked into Local Authority Grants Caz...

See if there's anything they can do?
How about getting the local press involved, see if anyone can help or even writing in to programmes like This Morning or some of the makeover programmes who can make a huge difference space wise.
Even something like Location Location Location who could help with your budgetting and even look into other means of financial help to try and achieve somewhere that suits your family better.

It's a midwifery degree, hun. You wouldn't believe how few uni's actually do the course and even fewer places that are available on them.
The interview is my downfall. It's a group one with up to six other applicants watching you and I just go to pieces.
I've tried to get into volunteering at the hospital to help me, but nothing there either. :o(
How about you, hun? x

a) Christmas was not so d*mn expensive (or maybe its just me not controlling my pressie buying - I'm too over generous !)
b) Visa head office wrote to me saying there was a mistake and they actually 'owed me' the money on my statement !
c) As compensation, Visa head office offered me an all-expenses paid holiday to Florida or the Carribean for 3 weeks (the choice being mine) and apology letter (oh if only !)
.... ok ok seriously now - Life couldn't be any better. I have a wonderful family, some great friends and my health. Money couldn't buy that !!!
