i am 15 years old and i have a very unusual looking rash on my chest it is brown and quite spread out, i have had it since the summer and it is making me very self-concious. My mum said it is only a sweat rash and will go! any tips on how to get rid of it?

You could actually make the appointment yourself without you parents knowing, but I wouldn't advise going behind your parents back unless absolutely necessary, you still have the right to patient confidentiality from your Doctor, Meaning the Doctor cannot inform your parents about this.
I think you need to see a Doctor if you have had this rash for that long.

If it is a sweat rash you could try some hydrocortisone cream from the chemist.
Are you doing anything that could aggravate it such a sport or such where you get sweaty or if you're larger chested? It's usually red and itchy though and you seem to have had it for a long time.
Could it be some kind of sun damage? If so maybe something like bio oil could help.

it could be something like this which I have had myself since I was young, it changes colour through the year. My mum used to scrub my neck convinced it was dirty!
