which was just purely for fun, it brought back memories of a film i once watched, so here goes, a serious question.
if you were on a beach or near a canal or similair and two small children were drowning, you realize one of them was yours. and you cant possobly save both.
hopefully we'll never find ourselves in such a dillema,
but what do you think you would do?

Would probably be screaming my head off for someone else to come and help though to try and save the other one and try and throw them something to hold onto if I could. That's my lifeguard training kicking in but I'm sure it could be very different if my child was drowning.

It would definitely be my own child without question. I would be heartbroken for the other child , naturally but I couldn't not save my own child. Imagine having to choose between your own two kids though ? I remember sobbing reading the story of the poor mother caught up in the seige in Beslan who was offered the choice to remain inside with her two kids and die or leave with her baby. She chose to leave with her baby in the hope that she could get help and her second child would be rescued. Sadly not , her other child perished. I can't even begin to imagine the pain that poor woman will carry until her dying day. It's easy to say that you would stay behind with both kids , not wanting to leave your other child in fear and with the last memory being that his mother abandoned him to die alone but who's to say how you would react in that situation ? She obviously felt that she was doing the right thing by at least getting one child to safety but what an awful memory to carry.
Reminds me of this story:

Oh dear..Sophies Choice :o( I almost saw THAT clip the other day whilst watching 'most tearjerking moments' on channel 4. I switched it on and it was there right in front of me! luckily I quickly changed channel...but not in time to stop me going into the kitchen for a darn good cry...
