Avoid all other fatty stuff, including cakes, biscuits, crisps, chips etc. Eat apples and oranges and keep some celery in the fridge to nibble at. Make a rule to not eat after 2100hrs. Remember to drink at least three litres of fresh water a day, that keeps the liver and kidneys flushing out the fat and toxins.
A week is a very short time to make significant changes, but you should loose a couple of kilos that way. You will feel peckish all the time. That is your reminder that it is working.
Do not stop eating altogether. If you do your system will change gear and in the short term you will not loose much weight as the body tries to conserve everythiing,

Thanks you both! I was thinking about not eating much this entire week, but as hippy said, I probably wont lose many inches (and my skin might breakout).
Question for you: has anyone tried the cabbage soup diet? I've heard it has excellent short-term results. If so, can anyone recommend a tried and tested (and simple) recipe for it or is it available in the shops? Thank you!
You need to go on the kAtkins diet. You eat nothing but protien, just like pussy does and hey presto, you are thin - pity about the cat-food breath problem, but don't worry you'll look so gorgeous at the ball that all the men will be too scared to come anywhere near you, so the breath won't be a problem.
Beenee, just read your question, then nipped to Sainsbury's bought a delish tuna, sweetcorn & pasta snack, loads of fresh friut & a Rosemary Conley mag. I've eaten my snack & am now walking up the stairway to heaven to paint the living room ceiling! So that's a start to my Christmas diet, don't know for how long for tho! My family think I'm mad & say I look slim, but it's what you feel inside. Good luck at the ball, bet you'll great.
not eating after 9pm is a load of toffee. Simple rule, if your calorific input is less than your calorific output then you will lose weight, whether you eat at midday and exercise midnight or whatever. Cabbage soup diet is very good for short term weight loss but a) people tend to put back on half what they took off in the two weeks, so be careful to continue a calorie controlled diet after finishing cabbage patch diet if you want to maintain the weight loss b) it's tedious and needs a lot of willpower. My advice is get LOADS of exercise in if you're wanting to lose a fair amount of weight in just one week - the body goes into defence mode for the first couple of weeks a person starts dieting (it thinks it's being starved so tries to slow down metabolism) so you're gonna have to override this by exercising - not 4 minute mile jobs, gentle but sustained exercise, hillwalking is the best.
