2nd Hand

Have you ever bought something from an antique/2nd hand shop then thought that this thing has either brought you bad luck or as a strange feeling about it? If you have, what did you do? Did you keep what you bought, throw it out or give it and the bad luck/strangeness to someone else ?

aww thats a lovely story bednobs :D maybe it ended up in the shop by accident?
I bought a silver ankh on a chain years ago from a 2nd hand shop. I seemed to have really bad luck from the day i bought it, but only if i was wearing it. In the end I threw it (just the ankh and not the chain) across the living room and couldnt find it when I looked for it later. When I moved house years later I found it behind the freezer in the kitchen (gawd knows how it got there) I put it on the side to chuck it in the bin and 10 minutes later went to get it and it had gone, i have never seen it since lol

My wife suddenly started getting very bad headaches but only while she was at work. After a few weeks she accidently discovered the cause.
I had bought her an amethyst necklace while on holiday in France. She subsequently started wearing it every day for work and that's when, we realised afterwards, she had started getting the headaches. One day, though, she forgot to put it on and that day she didn't get a headache, which is when we made the connection!
So she stopped wearing it altogether and the headaches stopped. Weird, don't you think?

I've bought loads of bits 'n bobs from 2nd hand or antiques shops and I've never had a problem. Someone once told me that you should never buy jewellery from antiques stores because it might be cursed... or sommat! But I've bought loads and they're fine.
Purses can bring me bad luck and I've always bought them from new. Have you ever had a bad luck purse? If it doesn't stay with you at all times or it randomly loses money/cards, then bin it!

No, I don't think I have ever bought anything from an antique shop that was worth remembering...
I think jewellery, especially precious stones, can have a bad effect on some people because they may be sensitive to 'birthstones' .... my mom once wore a sapphire necklace (it was a gift) and had a strange rash break out around her neck , she later gave it away coz she thought it was bad luck. Sapphire's my birthstone (whatever that means) and had no effect on me, but then not much jewellery does...I guess some people are more sensitive to it than others.

Not an antique as such but I once bought a tin or corned beef in Waitrose. When I was putting the carrier bags in the boot of my car the tine slipped out and fell on my toes. As I was wearing sandals it really hurt.
A day or so later when opening the very same tin, it sliced my finger right open. And that really hurt as well!!!
Bloody corned beef.

My boyfriends family used to have a strange painting of a child on the wall from an old relative. Ever since, even though they have gotten rid of it, strange things keep happening at their house.
Someone/thing tried to strangle my father-in-law in bed (and it wasn't the mother-in-law)
A marble hit my boyfriend on the back of the head as he was walking up stairs one night, but there was no one else downstairs.
His TV turns itself on
And the dog would never go upstairs after dark on its own
