i was just reading in my local paper about kids brushing up on oral hygiene and it bought back a very old memory for me. Does anyone else remember, at primary school, when they got given the toothbrush, some toothpaste and that little pink tablet you had to suck on and where you teeth weren't properly clean, they shone bright pink???? i remember being terrified of having bright pink teeth!!!!!!! anyone got any other funny memories from school like this one of mine?

The smell of cress always reminds me of being back in infants, and growing it in cotton wool on the windowsill, and a carrot top on a saucer of water!!!
The small bottles of milk were fab unless you got one with a load of manky cream on - urgh!!!
I remember those vienesse biscuits though that were 5p at the tuck shop at break time - they were lush!!!
Also remember when if you fell and cut yourself, a teacher would put a plaster over the cut for you - now they cant even do that!
Thes best thing about christmas time was getting to play chuckie egg and chuck rock on the computer if you'd had enough stars through the year for good work!
I'm gonna go and raid the attic for any old school books!!!! Those were the days eh??? Thanks for the nostalgia hit unruliejulie x

I remember the two little camp beds so that you could have a nap in the afternoon.
Also there was a wendy house with a scaled down iron and ironing board etc. , I'd never seen anything like it ( it WAS the 60s tho' !! )
And I didn't work out till years later how the teacher did it when she told us we were going to watch a programme on TV and it came on when she said it would. I thought she had special powers.
But I'll never forget when she said we had to do something, and " woe betide " anyone who didn't. It sounded like nothing I'd ever heard before and the fear it instilled in the little 5 year old me !!!
