What if you found...........
21 Answers
What would you do if you found a lottery ticket in the street, on the bus, wherever, took it home and when you checked the numbers you found it was a jackpot winner! 3,000,000. !!!
Would you cash it or would you try and find who lost it , bearing in mind that you would get all and sundry swearing it was theirs.

To claim any prize you will have to complete a claim form and give proof of your identity. If you are claiming a large prize, additional checks on your winning ticket may be conducted and this might include confirming where you purchased the ticket, but a bit of absent-mindedness can abate that. The only way to try and make sure that nobody else claims on YOUR ticket should you lose it is to write your name and address on the back, otherwise it is fair game for any finders! I would claim on it why ever not?
The ticket is the only proof of being a winner if you lose it, youve lost it!

I agree with Pa__ul... If I worked in a shop and someone handed me 20 and said it was found on the shop floor... I'd pocket it! Unless someone came up to the till and said they had lost 20 and did I know if any had been handed in! But finding 3,000,000 is very different. Its a chance to change your life. I'd keep it.... no questions asked.
It would appear that if you declare yourself as a finder then the NL will search for any valid holders or investigate any claims from people who claim to have lost the winning ticket.
Assuming they havent written their n&a on the back, then should the actual purchaser not materialise then, at their discretion, the NL will pay the winnings to the finder.
It would take a cool calm devious head to claim a jackpot prize on a found ticket without declaring it found, and then if found out you run the risk of not getting the money as it would be seen as being stolen. If not, jackpot.
