I have some eggs in the fridge that are a week out of their best before date...can they still be eaten?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.as we don't eat many eggs, if i buy 6 it usually ends up that we eat a couple immediately and the rest are eaten when they're well past their sell/use by date. we've never had a problem. i imagine if you were pregnant, old or infirm, or a baby, it wouldn't be such a good idea though. also, i don't keep eggs in the fridge, just in a holder on the worktop.
