The person below has said that she feels her child has Tourettes. Many people self diagnose themselves thesedays and I feel it is an excuse or coverup for inexcusable behavior. If a child is misbehaving then that child must have ADHD, if a child is swearing then that child must have tourettes. Why can't parents take responsibility for their children, take them in hand and sort them out. Tourettes indeed!

There may be no solid evidence to back up my theory but that does not make it untrue. These problems rarely occur when the child comes from a stable home and family.
I'm giving up- you're obviously not going to be swayed from your 'learned' opinion, and frankly I can't be bothered attempting it.
Lets hope to heavens that you are not Bev2007 childs paediatrician with that frame of mind you have.

Why don't you all get off of your soap box's. Other people are entitled to their opinions whether you agree with them or not.
Well said bigmamma

poor child...
Question Author
I agree poor child, do not get me wrong. Poor child that his or her's home life is that unstable they have to resort to this behaviour.
as I said before, Im sure there are parents out there who allow their children to swear and try to claim its tourettes or allow their children to run amock (lazy parents who dont care) and claim its ADHD. Perhaps these are types you have experienced.

I DO NOT however think that all cases can be said to be fabricated.

As B00 says you are steadfast in your beliefs and i shall give up replying now but as I said I hope you never have to experience such an illness in your family.
Question Author
Yes I am steadfast in my beliefs but also so are you. You have your opinion and I have mine. I am only telling you what I believe to be correct, I am not saying that you should believe it also. Unlike you who is telling me that I am WRONG. That is what makes the world it is, different people, different opinions. Would be a pretty dull place otherwise.
oh well, your life must be bliss, well they do say ignorance is that dont they and you seem to have plenty!

Please tell me you dont have any kids!!!!!
Of course everyone is entitled to an opinion, but stirring up bad feeling or starting an argument for the sake of it is bad-mannered and childish in the extreme. Debating is the adult way to go about things - wearing blinkers is no way to debate. Save your energy guys, some folk are not up to the job and Alfayeds spy has appeared out of nowhere to start a waste your energy kind of thread.

I started a discussion no? Should I have come along with the soft soft approach when I see a comment that i happen to have an opinion on?
spot on nutgoneflake. It really does sound like someone is here to stir up a row! pathetic.
Question Author
You think that because someone has a view that is not the same as yours that they are here to make trouble. What a small minded way to look at things. Talk about things not going your own way.
You havent given one valid reason for your argument, just that youre right, its what you think and thats that!
and efveryones else is entitled to their opinion too. She never mentioned swearing and more often than not tourettes isnt even swearing its ticks. Maybe you should read up on both of these before making comments
You're missing the point- alfayed's.....you can only debate something providing you can back up your opinions with facts and figures.

However to just simply dig in your heels and refuse to discuss it rationally beyond the "i'm right, you're wrong" mentality is just futile to everyone else. How can we debate something when you have the "I'm right- so there" attitude?
Question Author
I don't need to back up an opinion. I am not saying THIS IS. I am saying I THINK. Freedom of speech people. It's still around surprisingly enough!
funny how you're green and theres a ruskie above you
Question Author
I did not say I AM RIGHT. I may well be wrong but that is what I BELIEVE.
But how can we debate if you're so right?

Maybe we all should have left your post unanswered, afterall, you were just expressing an opinion were'nt you? You didn't actually want to look any further into it than that did you?
